LBTV Pick of the Week: Leicester Riders v DBL Sharks Sheffield

Details: Friday 07 December, 7:30pm, Morningside Arena, BBL Championship

Sheffield take a six-game win streak in the league into Friday’s contest as they visit the 5-1 Riders in the first action of December. The two teams met in last year’s Trophy Final as well as the First Round in the Play-Offs.

Dirk Williams led the league in steals per game (2.5) during November with Anthony Collins topping the assist charts with 8.3 per game, while JR Holder had a strong month for the Riders and is averaging 17.5 points per game on the season.

London Lions v Esh Group Eagles Newcastle

The first place in the BBL Cup Final is up for grabs this weekend as the BBL Championship leaders London Lions take on five-time winners Esh Group Eagles Newcastle. The Lions won the recent league meeting between the two, while Newcastle are looking to reach their fourth Cup Final in the past five years.

“I’m really excited. It’s always great playing in a Semi-Final and it’s an opportunity to move forward in the competition with the first silverware up for grabs of the season,” Rahmon Fletcher – Eagles guard.

“Both teams are familiar with one another because we just played a week ago. The goal for us is to just play all eight quarters the same.

“We will be motivated and prepared and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Manchester Giants v Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks

Details: Friday 07 December, 7:30pm, Trafford Sportsdome, BBL Cup, Semi-Finals

A big encounter as Manchester host Glasgow ahead of next month’s Second Leg. The Giants finally won their first home game last time out against Surrey having won both Cup games on the road, and the Rocks will have to cope with the Molten BBL Player of the Month for November in Willie Clayton as they look to bring a lead back to the Emirates Arena.

Surrey Scorchers v Leicester Riders

Details: Saturday 08 December, 7pm, Surrey Sports Park, BBL Championship

The Scorchers have a 2-8 record in the league having lost all three games in November and have brought in ex-Glasgow forward Anthony Elechi. They welcome the Riders to Surrey Sports Park on Saturday as the visitors look for a double-winning weekend having rested from their European exploits.

Plymouth Raiders v Cheshire Phoenix

Details: Sunday 09 December, 3pm, Plymouth Pavilions, BBL Championship

Cheshire were another team not to win in November and have made some roster changes ahead of a trip to Devon with the chance to claim the season head-to-head. The Raiders had to deal with injuries last month and both teams have identical 4-6 records in mid-table.

London City Royals v Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks

Details: Sunday 09 December, 4pm, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, BBL Championship

In their only league game in November, the Royals ended a four-game losing run with a triumph over Newcastle. They return to Crystal Palace on Sunday to host the Rocks, who complete a weekend double-header on the road and can join their opponents on four wins with victory.
