Esh Group Eagles Newcastle have a slender advantage to take into Sunday’s Second Leg after edging out London Lions, at Sport Central.

Fab Flournoy’s side head to the Copper Box Arena with a two-point lead with a place in January’s Final up for grabs.

Turning point – The Lions had a four-point lead at the end of the first through a deep buzzer beater from Robinson and re-claimed that advantage late in the fourth at 69-73 before the Eagles scored the next six and held on for the win.

Key stat – The two teams were evenly matched throughout and despite winning the battle of the boards by 11, the Lions gave up 16 turnovers in the contest.

Game hero(es) – Fletcher had another impressive game for the Eagles with a game-high 22 points along with eight assists, while Moses was close behind in scoring support with 17.
