Scorchers ease past Giants to end losing run.

Surrey Scorchers 95-70 Manchester Giants (25-25, 51-41, 70-59)

Surrey Scorchers returned to winning ways as they snapped a four-game losing run with a convincing home victory over Manchester Giants.

Creon Raftopoulos’ side dominated the second and fourth quarters to pick up their fourth league win of the campaign.

Turning point – The visiting Giants matched their opponents in a high-scoring opening period, but Surrey put up 26 points in the second quarter to build a 10-point cushion at the break and completed the victory with a 25-11 fourth quarter.

Key stat – Manchester’s struggles from downtown continued and despite a 100% free throw record, only had five attempts with Tayo Ogedengbe having 15 attempts himself as part of Surrey’s 26.

Game hero(es) – Alex Owumi sent down six triples in a 20-point haul, matched by Tony Hicks who produced a late scoring flurry, while Jordan Williams was one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
