Donte Nicholas flirts with a triple-double as Plymouth Raiders come back from 20 down.

Plymouth Raiders came back from 20 points down to move up to seventh in the BBL Championship table as Donte Nicholas’ buzzer-beater saw them snatch a 105-103 win at London City Royals.
Raiders took the head-to-head over Royals in the process and move to a record of 14-15, just one place behind their opponents in the benecos BBL Play-off race.

Turning point – Raiders trailed by 20 points at half time, but opened the third period on a 15-4 surge as Wilcher hit the first five points. They chipped away at the lead but trailed by three until a huge Denzel Ubiaro ‘and-one’ play with 14 seconds remaining, before they forced a turnover and Nicholas hit the fade away two to win it on the buzzer.
Key stat – Royals shot the ball well, but the difference for Raiders was the 22 points they scored from 14 offensive rebounds, led by Rashad Hassan, and the 24 points they scored from 17 forced turnovers as Nicholas nabbed three steals.
Game hero(es) – All of Plymouth’s starters scored more than 15 points, led by Payne’s 21 including four three-pointers, while Nicholas shone once more as he was just one rebound shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.
