2018-19 Team Profiles: Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks

Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks are celebrating their 20th anniversary this season and will want to put an end to their trophy drought.

Last season: A second consecutive finish in the top four of the BBL Championship was followed by a run to the Semi-Finals of the Play-Offs, where they came up short against London. Glasgow fell at the first hurdle in the Trophy having made it to the last eight in the Cup.

Back again: The Rocks keep hold of their strong core group of Kieron Achara, Gareth Murray, Ali Fraser and Jonny Bunyan – all of whom helped Scotland to fourth at the Commonwealth Games back in April, while head coach Darryl Wood is handed his first full season in charge.

New faces: Greg Pryor is brought in to handle the point guard duties following a season in France with compatriots Bo Zeigler and Kenny Carpenter arriving to start their pro careers. Norweigan international Bouna Ndiaye is another new recruit with the squad rounded out by the additions of Chris De Souza and Murray Hendry.

Pre-Season: Glasgow enjoyed comfortable wins in preparation for the new season as they eased past Falkirk Fury and USA Select before a recent 106-58 success over BBL Trophy participants, St. Mirren.

Outlook: The Rocks know what to expect from their returning core and will be looking for their new recruits to make their mark in search of silverware.
