BBL Team of the Week #22

Leading the offense in this week’s BBL Team of the Week is American Jessie Sapp (pictured), who scored 23 points, on 7/12 field goal shooting for Glasgow Rocks, in their defeat of Marshall MK Lions last weekend in the BBL Championship. He also seized an incredible 10 defensive rebounds and 11 assists for an inspiring triple-double, as well as 3 steals in a productive outing for his first BBL club. He is joined by his player/coach Sterling Davis, who earned his place with a 28 point haul against the Everton Tigers, as the Rocks sealed two wins last weekend to hold on to third place in the league. The naturalised Brit sunk 9 of his 12 two point attempts and shot 100% from three point range, as well as 7/9 from the free throw line, 4 steals and 3 assists as he continues to successfully juggle playing and coaching duties in this league.

The Rocks’ fine form has clearly been noted, as Steve Parillon also features in the Team of the Week, thanks to a 26 point, 9 rebound display against the Lions. Shooting an incredible 75% from the three point line and knocking down 100% of his foul shots, he also had 3 assists and the same number of steals to his name.

The other guard spot is taken by Mike Cook, who is having a well and truly unbelievable season in the UK. He notched 33 points, shooting 60% from behind the arc and 6/7 from the free throw line, as well as grabbing 6 defensive rebounds. To keep his team mates involved, he also dished out 3 assists in his 35:37 minutes in court.

Finally, BBL Cup Final MVP James Hamilton appears this week. He scored a massive 31 points, in Cheshire Jets’ convincing victory over PAWS London Capital.  The veteran was on fire, shooting 8/9 from the field, 3/5 three pointers and 6/6 free throws in 33:47 minutes of action.
