BBL Team of the Week #23

Leading the Team of the Week this week is Guildford Heat player-coach Chad McKnight, as his side broke their losing streak with a 101-104 away victory over Worthing Thunder, in which the Ohio native scored a massive 31 points. He hit 100% of his three point attempts, 6/8 free throws, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists to go with a blocked shot and a steal, as he managed to successfully balance playing and coaching.

The second Forward this week is Colin O'Reilly, who shot 7/11 from the field an outstanding 3/3 from three point and 4/4 from the free throw line on the way to 27 points as Cheshire Jets comfortably dealt with Essex Pirates.

The guards that stood out this weekend are Reggie 'Action' Jackson (Newcastle Eagles) and Jessie Sapp (Glasgow Rocks). Jackson led his team to a superb 99-79 win over league title rivals, Sheffield Sharks, as he notched 24 points, shot 70% from the floor, 80% from the free throw line and 66% from behind the arc. The second-season American also handed out an incredible 8 assists, and grabbed 3 steals in his 31:48. Meanwhile BBL rookie Sapp, was on his game against PAWS London Capital, as he had an impressive double-double of 20 points and 13 assists, shooting 8/10 from the field as well as seizing 7 steals.

For his all-round performance in the Eagles 2nd leg Semi Final win over their title nemesis Everton Tigers, Lynard Stewart earned his place at Centre this week. The American had 18 points on 8/11 field goal shooting and 7 rebounds in just over 30 minutes of action, as the Eagles triumphed 91-96. They now face either the Jets or Marshall MK Lions in the BBL Trophy Final, on Sunday 21st March at Guildford Spectrum.
