BBL Team of the Week #24

The BBL Team of the Week this week features Jason Johnson and Bradd Wierzbicki (Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders), Chez Marks (Cheshire Jets), Jerome Gumbs (Everton Tigers) and Lynard Stewart (Newcastle Eagles).

Johnson and Wierzbicki earned their places thanks to their performances against PAWS London Capital last Saturday evening, a 93-60 win for the Riders. Forward Johnson had 23 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 10/12 from the field. He also had 4 blocked shots to his name and 2 steals. His team mate, Wierzbicki, holds down one of the guard spots this week, thanks to his 25 point, 6 assist display against the Capital, with 70% field goal shooting and 60% three point percentage.

Gumbs, who hails from the US Virgin Islands, scored 24 points in the Tigers 89-107 win against Worthing Thunder, and nailed ten of his eleven attempts from the free throw line, as well as snatching 4 steals.

This week's second guard, Marks, stood out for the Jets in their convincing 59-88 defeat of Glasgow Rocks. The 6'3'' American had 24 points, on 5/6 field goal shooting, 4/9 from long range, and a clean sheet from the charity stripe, in his 37:53 of playing time.

Finally, as the BBL Trophy Finalists, Newcastle Eagles continued their sparkling form to ease past Marshall MK Lions 99-68, Lynard Stewart's number of 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals in 28:04 on court, earned him the Centre position in this week's line up.
