BBL Team of the Week #27

The BBL Team of the Week this week is made up of Jerrah Young and Colin O'Reilly, of Cheshire Jets, Rod Middleton (Worcester Wolves), Yorick Williams (Marshall MK Lions) and Matt Gorman, of Sheffield Sharks.

Young earned his place in the league's top line up for week number twenty seven, with a 24 point haul in the Jets' 91-92 overtime victory over Marshall MK Lions. The American shot 10/13 from the field, 4/6 from the free throw line, and also added 18 rebounds to his impressive personal statistics. Add 5 steals to his tally, and it was more than a productive night for the late-season signing.

His team mate O'Reilly did most of the damage for Cheshire in their crucial 91-82 win over Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders, their second win in two weeks over the East Midlands outfit, and one that could be critical in deciding the Play-off placings. The Irishman went 12/16 from the field on his way to 28 points personal, as well as grabbing 8 defensive rebounds, 2 steals and handing out 5 assists.

Rod Middleton continued to have a successful first season in the UK, as the American scored 25 points, including 4 three pointers and 6/8 shooting from the floor, in the Wolves victory over PAWS London Capital. He was also inches away from a double-double, as he grabbed 8 rebounds, and also dished out 5 assists to keep his team mates involved. His defensive efforts should also not go unnoticed, as the point guard made an incredible 9 steals.

British veteran, Yorick Williams, takes the other guard spot this week, as he spearheaded Marshall MK Lions 86-77 defeat of Guildford Heat, with a personal display of 30 points, including 4 three pointers. He shot an efficient 6/7 from open play, the same from the charity stripe, and also handed out 4 assists.

Finally, this week's Centre position belongs to Sheffield Sharks' Matt Gorman, who continues to make a successful return from a tough injury. The American scored 15 points, on 5/6 free throw shooting, as well as pulling down a staggering 14 rebounds and making 4 assists in his 32:10 on court in the Sharks' 67-88 defeat of PAWS London Capital.
