BBL Team of the Week #30

The first face in this week’s Team of the Week is certainly a familiar one, as Mike Cook (Sheffield Sharks, pictured) takes the first guard spot in this week’s line up of top performers. The former NBA D-League star earned his place thanks to an amazing 37 points in Sheffield’s 104-93 Playoff win over Marshall MK Lions. He is joined at the guard position by Glasgow Rocks’ Jessie Sapp, another BBL rookie who has had an incredible first season in the UK, as he stepped up late in the Rocks’ Quarter Final against Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders, to finish with 23 points personal. He also pulled down 7 rebounds, and handed out the same number of assists, as well as grabbing 2 steals in a full forty minute performance.

The rest of the team is made up purely of Newcastle Eagles players, as Charles Smith takes the forward spot in recognition of his performance against Worthing Thunder in the first round of the Playoffs - 29 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in just 23:04 of playing time. He is joined by team mate Andrew Sullivan, as the Great Britain captain put in a solid performance of 14 points, on 6/8 field goal shooting, 2/2 from the free throw line, 8 defensive rebounds, and 3 assists.

Lynard Stewart joins Smith and Sullivan, as the Centre also scored 14 points, as well as pulling down 11 boards. He shot 70% from the floor, as well as getting 2 assists and a steal.
