Jones Joins Worcester Wolves

Worcester Wolves and England Senior Men head coach Paul James is delighted to have secured the signature of Callum Jones for the coming 2010/11 season. Callum is the younger brother of James Jones, who played for Coach James at Guildford during their 2007/08 Trophy and Play-Off Championship winning season.

PJ commented” I’m very pleased and excited about working with Callum. Like James he is coming to me straight out of college in the USA and if he can have the kind of impact that James had on my team he will have a big part to play in our season”.

Callum Jones is 6’5” and arrives at Worcester having spent four years in the states at Pace University. He has represented England National team at U16, U18 and U20 levels and is sure to be pushing for a senior call up next summer.

Callum had this to say about joining the Worcester Wolves “I decided to join Worcester because it is a club with ambition and has plans set in place to improve and become a top team in the BBL in the next couple of years. I know how strong a coach Paul James is, and felt comfortable choosing to play for him especially after speaking to my brother James, who also played for coach James his first year out of college”. He continued “Going to Worcester also meant that I could continue with my education at the University of Worcester and get my masters degree, which is something I definitely wanted to do. The club has good support in the city and I am looking forward to the team having a great season”.

Coach James went on to say” Our philosophy of Learning Through Sport at Worcester has enabled us to award Callum a scholarship. We hope he will excel on the court and succeed in successfully achieving his masters degree in Business Administration, which we feel are both equally important for our student athletes”.
