Chris Alexander believes his DBL Sharks Sheffield side are in a good place after overcoming their slow start to the season.
The Sharks lost three of their opening four league games, but have responded to climb to third spot with their current 7-3 record.
“Right now, the team is feeling good,” declared Alexander. “We were able to put a few games together and get back on track after starting the season slowly.
“The key has been everyone buying in and just coming together more and more each week.”
The Sharks suffered a disappointing loss in their BBL Cup opener at home to Cheshire Phoenix, but bounced back to extend their winning run in the league to six games with a 4-0 November.
And, Alexander praised the new additions as both Anthony Collins and Leslee Smith have immediate impacts in helping push the Sharks forward.
“AC and Leslee are two good players for our team and both have settled into our system.
“They have been very helpful and a reason as to why we were able to turn it around.
He added: “My second season here got off to a slow start for me, but I am getting better and playing at the level I expect.”
Alexander re-signed in the summer and currently leads his team in scoring with 18.1 points per game – ranked inside the top 10 in the league.
The Sharks face a big test in continuing their unbeaten stretch tonight as they take on the 5-1 Leicester Riders with the chance to close the gap on the league-leading London Lions.
“Leicester are a good team that are well-balanced and we had some great games against them last year including a few that were a couple possession games.
“I don’t expect anything less again so we know we have to come out and defend and execute for us to have a chance to come out with the road win.”
