All-Star 5 – Week 10

With only three teams in action this week, and as a departure from the normal rules, the All-Star 5 is drawn from just London Lions, Bristol Flyers and Surrey Scorchers. After Lions beat both Flyers and Scorchers at home, it has enabled four first time appearances alongside Molten BBL Player of the Month for October, Brandon Peel.

Brandon Peel – London Lions

Amazingly – and fitting with his start to the season – Peel had both of the top two performances this week, making his fourth appearance. First, he posted 27 points and 12 rebounds against Bristol, and then followed that with another 25 point and 11 rebound double-double against Surrey, on a combined 21-33 (64%) shooting over the two games.

James Hawthorne – Surrey Scorchers

Battling Peel stride-for-stride on Saturday night was Surrey’s James Hawthorne, who makes his first appearance in the All-Star 5 after a strong start to his rookie season. In this game, he shot 9-14 (64%) for 25 points, along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Justin Robinson – London Lions

Also making his first appearance of the season is the back-to-back Molten BBL Player of the Season, Justin Robinson. He was in near triple-double territory in the win over Surrey with 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, shooting 5-6 (83%) on the inside and a perfect 4-4 at the line.

Levi Bradley – Bristol Flyers

Bradley came from the bench as the shining light for Bristol in a tough night at the Copper Box Arena on Wednesday. The high-impact rookie American had 20 points and eight rebounds in just 22 minutes; five of those boards were offensive and he proved hard to handle as he was sent to the free-throw line for eight shots, making all of them.

Marcus White – Surrey Scorchers

Completing the list of debutants for this week is Surrey’s Marcus White, another impact American from the bench. He had 19 points, including 8-11 (72%) inside shooting in just 24 minutes, to go with four assists and three steals.

Off the bench: Skyler White (Surrey Scorchers), Alioune Tew (London Lions), Fred Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Jules Dang Akodo (London Lions), Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan (London Lions), Jorge Romero (London Lions), Raphell Thomas-Edwards (Bristol Flyers).
