On the mic, BBL commentator, Daniel Routledge:
“Play-Off Finals are always special and this season has been really fun to watch so hopefully we’ll get the send-off this season deserves. It has been one of the most unpredictable years in recent memory in the BBL and there has been so much compelling basketball played, particularly in the last couple of months.
“It’s an intriguing final game to sign off with this weekend. You have Leicester, looking to end the season with the Play-Off crown for the third year in a row and London, who’ve already shown what they can do on the big occasion this season.
“They’ve played three great games this season, Leicester scrambled a come-from-behind overtime win way back in October and the two most recent meetings saw Riders enter the fourth quarter with a decent lead and the Royals make a charge. They came from 13 down to win at the Palace, but didn’t make it all the way back at Morningside Arena as Leicester won 86-78. Three well matched games.
“I don’t think there are any great surprises to be had here. If Matthew Bryan-Amaning and Ashley Hamilton play like they did in the Trophy final, it would be hard for anyone to stop the Royals. From the Riders’ perspective Tim Williams has been sensational of late, they will need him to continue that.
“The key for me is the three-point line, since April 12th Leicester have shot just 27% from behind the arc, it’s tough to win a final at that sort of clip, particularly as the Royals have been up at 38% in the same time. If one of these two teams can get going from distance, they both have strength inside to take advantage of the extra space that should bring.”
