BBL Cup, Group 1
Plymouth Raiders 65 – 78 Bristol Flyers (14-21, 31-34, 49-54, 65-78)
(Raiders – A.Hamilton 24, D.Ubiaro 14, E.Sentance 12; Riders – E.Lockett 25, Z.Copeland 16, L.Davis 15)
Bristol Flyers picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday night, breezing past previously perfect Plymouth Raiders.
The Raiders would have been the first team to secure qualification out of their group in the BBL Cup if they had won, but a superb display from Eric Lockett stopped them in their tracks.
Lockett put up 25 points for the Flyers, who also handed a debut to Great Britain international Teddy Okereafor, and their new signing made an instant impact, assisting six times.
Ashley Hamilton continued to impress for the Raiders, putting up a total of 24 points and picking up 8 rebounds too.
His performance, however, was not enough to inspire the Raiders to a victory, but they remain at the top of the Group 1 standings, with the Flyers still trailing in last place but on joint points with Worcester Wolves.
