British star Robinson crowned Molten BBL MVP for 2017-18

London Lions’ standout Justin Robinson has received the backing of BBL clubs across the country, who have voted him Molten BBL MVP for 2017-18.

The Great Britain guard takes the prestigious accolade off the back of a stellar first year with his hometown club. His quality and leadership have propelled Lions to their best ever finish in the league, as the capital outfit claimed runners-up spot in the BBL Championship.

Robinson has consistently delivered for his team during the clutch moments, averaging 17.8 points per game – helped by a deadly 46% from behind the three-point line.

The Londoner also served up 5.6 assists per game to fend off a strong challenge from Tony Hicks of Surrey Scorchers to land the accolade.

He will continue to be a key figure as he prepares to lead Lions into Sunday’s 2018 BBL Play-Off Final at The O2 against Leicester Riders.

“It’s an honour to be appreciated, but for me, it’s all about winning the Play-Off Championship,” stated Robinson.

“It means nothing if we don’t win – all the hard work will be void. I’m one of the more experienced guys on the team so I’ve tried to bring a level-headedness.

He continued: “I’m flattered people think highly of my abilities, but it’s a team MVP award instead of an individual accolade – I base my own success on team success.

“I’m thankful for all my team-mates and coaches.”
