Johde who has signed his first professional contract at the age of 21 has had this to say: “I am really happy to be starting my professional career with the Cheshire Phoenix.

“Firstly I want to thank all my previous coaches who have made this possible. Secondly I would like to thank the Cheshire Phoenix and especially Coach Ben Thomas for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to get the season under way and can’t wait to meet everyone from Nix Nation!”

Head Coach Ben Thomas added: “It’s great that we’ve been able to sign such a promising young British talent in Johde. He really is a young player with a huge future ahead of him.

“I recently watched Johde play in the Jump 10 tournament at Loughborough University where he was playing against BBL players, he was definitely able to compete against those guys and looked really comfortable and confident.

“Johde will really add some extra depth to the team which I think is key to keep progressing as a club and to have an even better season!”
