After a successful first season with Scorchers which saw the side finish fifth in the BBL Championship, he earned the nickname ‘Mr 3-point’, averaging 37% from the three-point line.
He added: “I feel like the pieces are coming together for us to push on off the back of a successful season for the franchise.
“The fact there is also some continuity with the roster going into this season is a massive positive for us and should contribute to us getting out the blocks quicker than previous years.”
Before representing Scorchers, Raftopoulos played for Team Solent Kestrels in NBL Division 1 and spent three years with Worcester Wolves – winning the BBL Play-Offs during his time at the club.
Raftopoulos joins an exciting Scorchers squad that will be looking to continue their 11-game unbeaten run at Surrey Sports Park.
“Defending home court will be vital in us making a run for a higher league finish this season.”
Scorchers take on Glasgow Rocks in the opening night of the BBL Championship on Saturday 22 September as they look for revenge for the 2018 BBL Play-Offs Quarter-Final defeat.
