Bristol Flyers’ play-caller Andreas Kapoulas has been appointed as Head Coach for England Men at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Also Head Coach for the Great Britain Under 20 Men who he successfully led to promotion back in August, Kapoulas brings previous national team experience with England Under 15 and 16 boys.
“I am very honoured to be selected as the England Men’s Head Coach,” declared Kapoulas.
“It’s a great time for our sport after a successful summer for the national team programme and we have an exciting opportunity to continue this momentum with the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
“We have plenty of work ahead of us to ensure we make the most of our preparations. I look forward to working with the players and staff towards a successful campaign.”
Kapoulas will be assisted by Alan Keane and James Vear for the tournament, which will be held in April on Australia’s Gold Coast.
The next steps for Coach Kapoulas and his team will be to further appoint his wider staff and announce his initial list of players.
England Men open their 2018 Commonwealth Games campaign against Scotland in Townsville on 5 April. That will be followed by games against India on 7 April and Cameroon on 8 April.
