Corey Samuels has re-joined his boyhood club Bristol Flyers ahead of the 2021-22 British Basketball League season.
The 21-year-old point guard becomes the eleventh player to commit to Coach Kapoulas’ new look 2021-22 roster.
Born in Bristol, Samuels came through all the junior age groups at the Flyers before joining the SGS Basketball Academy in 2016.
Samuels signed his first professional contract with Italian side A.S.D Castanea Basket in 2020.
“It feels great to be part of the BBL programme,” said Samuels. “I didn’t know where I was going to be playing a few months ago and for me to have this opportunity to return home is a blessing.
“I was with the club for nearly 10 years as a junior, and we used to always look up to players like Greg Streete, Ty Treasure and Roy Owen.
“It was everyone’s dream starting out to play at that level and now I have a chance to make it happen.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas added, “Corey grew up through our Club and Academy pathway and now has the opportunity to represent our city at senior level, following the footsteps of so many great Bristol-born players that have come through our programme.
“He has a great attitude and work ethic and will really help our squad get better through the course of the season.”
