The Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks have announced the signing of American Kenny Carpenter for the 2018-19 season.
The 6’5″ guard from Detroit, Michigan spent his college career at Cleveland State – an NCAA Division I school in the Horizon League.
Carpenter started all 34 games in his final year, averaging 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
The 22-year-old shot a strong 47.6% from the field while being named to the Horizon League All-Tournament team during last season after averaging 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in the competition.
Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks head coach, Darryl Wood, feels that Carpenter is exactly what the Rocks have been looking for to step into the vital shooting guard position for this forthcoming BBL season.
“I am pleased to have our third import player signed,” he said. “Kenny will be a great addition to our squad, he brings great size and length to the shooting guard spot.
“We were looking for a player that is great in ball screen situations, can shoot, plays hard on defence and has a great basketball IQ. Kenny ticks all these boxes so we are very excited to see him in a Rocks jersey this season.”
Carpenter added: “I am excited to be a part of the Glasgow Rocks family. I can’t wait to get there, meet the rest of my team mates and get to work.”
