Worcester Wolves have announced their third signing for the new BBL season, Cortez Edwards.
Cortez signs with Wolves following his Senior year with Southern Miss Golden Eagles from the NCAA D1 Southern Conference.
The 6’2” guard averaged 13.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2,1 steals in 2018/19 and earned Second-Team All-Conference USA honours and was a finalist for the C Spire Howell Trophy, presented to the top player in Mississippi.
“In Signing Cortez Edwards, I feel we are really beginning to take shape,” said Head Coach Matt Newby.
“He compliments the perimeter we are putting together and fits the profile of a player who will contribute significantly at this level. Statistically, Cortez was a huge contributor at Southern Miss, in NCAA Division One’s southern conference.
“I think this will translate incredibly well in the BBL and I am excited about the significant contribution he will make not just on the floor but in our basketball community as a role model.”
Cortez added, “I am very excited to begin my professional career with the Worcester Wolves, we will have a great year and lots of exciting moments.
“I am ready to get to work and bring the Wolfpack a successful and exciting season.”
