Worcester Wolves picked up their third victory of the BBL Championship campaign thanks to a 95-72 win over Team Birmingham Panthers at the University of Worcester on Saturday evening.

After a close opening period, which the Wolves edged 24-22, the second period saw the Wolves break the game open with a 13-0 tear to take the score out to 46-35 midway through the period. The home side increased their advantage over the Panthers to fifteen points at 56-41 going into the locker rooms at half time.

The second half saw Worcester open with a 5-0 tear to lead 61-41. The Panthers valiantly fought to get themselves back in the game, but the Wolves closed out the third period with a 9-0 burst to lead 74-55 going into the final stanza.

The fourth quarter saw the Wolves continue to increase their advantage over a tiring Panthers defence, and eventually ran out comfortable victors.

Michael Gayle led all scorers with 21 points for the Wolves, while Lekan Popoola and Adam Williams combined to lead the Panthers scoring with 17.
