Surrey Scorchers have announced the signing of Henry Wilkins for the 2018-19 BBL Championship season.
Wilkins, who represented Scorchers in the 2015/16 season, has spent the last two seasons playing in Austria and Spain.
The shooting guard returns to his hometown and believes it was an “easy decision” to come back.
“I’m really looking forward to the season and being back with Coach Creon and all the guys. I can’t wait to get started against Glasgow,” he said.
“Playing at Surrey Sports Park is like home, it’s where I’m from and it’s where I train all day every summer.”
In the two seasons Wilkins has been away Scorchers have improved year on year and recorded their highest ever league finish of fifth last season.
The Guildford-born player said he has remained a Scorchers fan despite playing in Europe.
“I always follow Scorchers, they’ve always been my home team and I’ve got a lot of friends on the team.
“There’s no secret that the first year wasn’t so successful but year on year they’ve built on every success and made the play-offs the past two seasons.”
Wilkins joins returnees Tayo Ogedengbe, Josh Steel and Caylin Raftopoulos along with newcomers Quincy Taylor, Demario Beck and Willie Atwood.
