Rocks bring back ‘Huffor Time’ to Glasgow

The Glasgow Rocks have confirmed the return of British/American Shooting Guard Danny Huffor to their line-up after his stint with the Durham Wildcats last season.

Huffor last played for the Glasgow Rocks during the 2011/12 season where he averaged 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Unfortunately, his tenure with the Rocks ended due to a torn ACL which occurred when he was playing for Scotland at the European Championship in 2012. After a year of rehabilitation Huffor made his return to the BBL for the 2013/14 season and became a starter for the Durham Wildcats where he averaged an impressive 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Huffor had the following to say about his return to Glasgow:“I'm really happy to be coming back to Glasgow and the number one fans in the league. I hope my leadership and impact will help the rocks on and off the court.  I think it's high time for the rocks to win some silverware!”

Head Coach Sterling Davis was grateful to have Danny back in a Rocks uniform.

“We brought Danny over to the BBL in the 2011-12 season with intentions to develop him up to where, in the future, he would be a major contributor for our team.

On Danny’s arrival, he was very raw but had all the athleticism in the world along with skill.  As the season went on, opportunities opened up to where we needed him to step up and learn quick. He proved he could do over and beyond our expectations, we are definitely glad to have Danny back in a Rocks uniform.”

Huffor is the first official signing for the Rocks this summer with more signing news to surface in the upcoming weeks. Rocks fans will be able to get a glimpse of their new look Rocks squad mid September when they face a visiting USA Select squad in the annual Rocks vs USA Select pre-season fixture to be staged at the Emirates Arena – details are still to be confirmed.
