Cheshire Phoenix have added to their 2018-19 roster with the signing of American Jimario Rivers.
The 6’8″ forward joins the Nix out of the University of Memphis having averaged over 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his final two years, whilst shooting above 52% from the field.
Rivers also previously played alongside fellow new signing Daniel Norl at high school in the US.
“I would first like to thank God for the opportunity to fulfil my dream of earning my college degree and playing professional basketball.
“I have overcome a lot of obstacles and I am so grateful to be continuing my journey with The Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club.
“I would like to thank my agent, the coach/staff, and my family for all of their support. I am excited and can’t wait to meet my teammates and coaching staff. I’m focused and ready to work!”
Coach Ben Thomas added: “It’s great to finally announce the signing of Jimario.
“He is going to be a great asset to our team this year. His versatility at the forward position along with his unbelievable athletic ability is going to cause a lot of problems for our opposition.
“He has a great work ethic and is an elite defender who will match up with anyone who is put in front of him! He really is going to be one to watch this season.”
Rivers joins Norl, Louis Sayers, Momcilo Latinovic, Ashton Khan, Dii’jon Allen-Jordan and Jordan Session as the new additions for the upcoming season.
