Glasgow Rocks have picked up their second import signing of the season in exciting point guard Jordan Johnson, the new Rocks number #11 who has joined the club on a one-year deal ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The 26-year-old Johnson, from Waukegan, Illinois, has won silverware at every team he’s played at since becoming a professional.
A graduate of the University of Nevada in the NCAA, Jordan was drafted by the Auston Spurs in 2018 but would go on to make his name in the G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, playing 34 games and averaging 7.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 4.5apg and becoming both conference and league champion.
Moving to Europe with Zwolle in Holland he played in the FIBA Europe cup amassing an impressive 14.7ppg, 2.5rpg and 4.5apg in the tournament whilst in the Dutch league having similar impressive numbers at 16.7ppg, 4.1rpg and 4.8apg, lifting the Dutch Supercup.
Finally, he moved to the Kosovo Superliga and started for Sigal Pristina, managing 19.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 6.3apg and 1.3 spg and winning the Kosovo League and Kosovo Supercup.
“Jordan is a winner and his experience in the G League and Eurocup will be a huge asset for us,” said Head Coach Gareth Murray.
“It was important to have a leader at the point guard position who is able to take over games and I believe Jordan is the man to do that.
“I’m looking for him to run the team, find good passes and set up great scoring opportunities.”
Jordan is the third signing of the season after Coach Murray re-signed Boban Jacdonmi and signed American Jaycee Hillsman.
