Leicester Riders have re-signed 2018 BBL Trophy Final MVP, JR Holder for the 2018/19 season as the club also prepare for the Basketball Champions League.
Holder will return for a second season with the Riders following a great first year as a professional out of Jacksonville University in the US.
The American led the Riders in scoring last season, averaging 15.4 points per game to go along with four rebounds per outing for the reigning BBL Champions.
“I’m very excited! We had a great season last year,” commented Holder on returning to the club next season.
“It is great that so far a lot of the team is returning as we plan on picking up where we left off.”
Holder is looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Basketball Champions League next season.
“Now with us playing in the Champions League it’s even more exciting to be with the Riders. The goal is to continue winning and try to help elevate the exposure for British Basketball as a whole this season.”
Rob Paternostro is pleased with the return of Holder to join Pierre Hampton, Andy Thomson and TrayVonn Wright on the roster so far this summer.
“We are extremely excited to have JR back. He had an excellent rookie season, being was one of our most consistent players who produced in the biggest games.
“He is an extremely efficient scorer, his ability to attack the basket and finish in different ways was huge for us last season, he came up with big baskets time and time again.
“I feel like we will-continue to see JR develop his game, he has an excellent work ethic and is a player that can continue to be effective from all over the court and even adds something new to his game”
