London Lions have just attained their highest ever BBL Championship finish and after going 7-1 during April, Vince Macaulay has been rewarded with the Molten BBL Coach of the Month gong.
The play-caller won more games than any of his peers during the period, ensuring Lions finished as the Regular Season runners-up.
They tipped off April by beating three-time BBL Champions Leicester Riders by 93-72 at the Copper Box and that set the tone for a highly productive month.
After a 93-84 home success against Plymouth Raiders, there was the most exhilarating of triumphs at DBL Sharks Sheffield, as Macaulay masterminded an 81-80 road win.
Another victory in Yorkshire at Leeds Force was then followed by the only blemish on April’s record by way of a 77-86 loss against Worcester Wolves.
But, Macaulay got his players back on track as they finished with a flourish, posting three straight wins – an 81-95 success at Leicester, a 97-71 victory at home to Manchester and signing off a landmark Regular Season by beating Cheshire Phoenix 95-81
