Minnie completes Rocks American quartet for 2021-22

Glasgow Rocks last night revealed that power-forward Elijah Minnie is their final American import signing of the 2021-22 season after signing a one-year deal.

The 27-year-old 6’9″ Elijah is a graduate of Robert Morris University and then Eastern Michigan University averaging 16.9 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game and 1.8 blocks per game in his best NCAA season.

After graduating Elijah played pre-season in the Eurobasket Summer League and the NBL in Australia before signing on for the Lugano Tigers of Switzerland averaging 9.6 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game and 1 assists per game in the Swiss Basketball League.

He finished last season in the newly formed TBL in the USA, reaching the final with the Syracuse Stallions with average stats of 8.4 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 1.2 steals per game and 1.4 blocks per game.

“I wanted a versatile and athletic forward who can space the floor & finish with highlight dunks,” said Head Coach Gareth Murray. “Someone who can play defense on multiple positions and works hard to shut down the opposition.

“Elijah is absolutely that player, he is hungry to make a name for himself and I am looking forward to working with him.”
