Leicester Riders have added Maurice (Mo) Walker to their roster ahead of the 2019-20 British Basketball League season.
Walker will be a familiar face to BBL fans after spending a short stint with the Worcester Wolves in two seasons ago in which he averaged 18 points and 9.5 rebounds per outing.
Mo Walker joins after last season spending time with Union Basket Chartres Metropole and SO Maritime Boulogne in the French league with similar averages of 9 points and 5 rebounds per game.
“I know what the Riders are all about from playing in the BBL 2 years ago,” expressed Walker.
“They’re always at the top of the league so I wanted to put myself in a position to win a championship and build on to the legacy the club already has.
“The fans can expect a good guy and team player that will be a dominant presence inside and someone that will always play to win!”
Coach Paternostro added, “Mo is a big time signing for us. He is a guy we have inquired about for a couple seasons and when we found out he was interested in playing for our club this season we jumped at the chance.
“He is a big that can score and rebound and be a presence on both ends of the floor. He was very effective during his time in BBL, a tough guy to defend, and hard to play him 1 on 1 making it difficult for opposing teams.”
