The Plymouth Raiders have added 6ft 3in guard, Eric Eaves, to bolster the back court for the remainder of the season.
The 22 year old joins the club straight from NCAA Division 1 college, South Carolina State, where he averaged a healthy 17 points a game and 3.5 rebounds.
In his final college year, Eric made the NABC All-District First Team, as well as claiming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Week in January 2017, after he poured in 32 points during a nail-biter at Jacksonville.
In addition to shooting 64.3% from the field, 83.3% from the three-point line and 75% from the free throw line, Eaves also grabbed six rebounds and recorded a block and steal to claim the accolade.
Eaves will help provide support to Dylan Costelloe, Eddie Matthew and Denzel Ubiaro at the guard positions, and will have the opportunity to stake his claim to a longer term role with the club.
Head Coach, Gavin Love said: “It’s good to have Eric on board, he is a young hungry player who has had a solid college career.
“As a rookie, it will take Eric some time to settle in and find his feet but I feel his ability to play both guard positions will help us moving forward.”
