Riders expand roster with British guard Lascelles

Leicester Riders further expand their roster for the upcoming 2019-20 season by adding British guard Rema Lascelles for his third season with the club.

The Derby native, who played in Hawaii at the collegiate level will re-join familiar Riders teammates as the team takes aim at the new-look BBL season starting on September 20th.

“It’s great to have Rema back for his third season with our club,” said Head Coach Rob Paternostro. “He is a big guard with great court vision who players love to play with keeping the offense moving and the game under control.

“We are expecting him to continue to develop, he plays with a lot of confidence and has never been afraid of the moment

“At 6-6 he is a player that rebounds extremely well from the backcourt, and with his versatility on defence gives us a lot of flexibility in what we could do.”

Entering his third season with the club Lascelles expands the backcourt to compliment recent signings Kyron Cartwright and Namon Wright.

“Really pleased to have re-signed for the Riders for what will be my third season,” commented Lascelles.

“The team is looking good and I am excited about our potential!”

Lascelles becomes the eighth signing of the summer joining Jamell Anderson, Jesse Chuku, Andy Thomson, Josh Ward-Hibbert, Mo Walker, Kyron Cartwright and Namon Wright on the BBL roster for the new season.
