Plymouth Raiders 71-77 Leicester Riders (16-19, 38-38, 48-59, 71-77)
(Raiders – Morsell 26, Hamilton 17, Ochereobia 10; Riders – Crandall 19, Nelson-Henry 13, Fraser 12)
The Leicester Riders jump up to third place in the BBL Championship as they take home a six point victory away at the Plymouth Raiders.
It was a game that was close from start to finish, and when the Riders looked like pulling away at the end of the third with an eleven point lead, the Raiders dragged themselves back into it early in the fourth.
This was mainly due to the phenomenal performance of Mike Morsell, who dropped a game high 26 points, along with seven rebounds, but his efforts were not enough for the Raiders, who fall to their fifth defeat of the campaign.
Geno Crandall led the game for the Riders, putting in a dominant display all over the court, with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Only two other Riders players made double figures, with Darien Nelson-Henry adding 13 and Alasdair Fraser contributing 12.
This victory leaves the Riders just two points off the London Lions and Newcastle Eagles, who are currently jostling it out for top spot, but with a game in hand on both teams, the Riders will be eyeing up first place.
