The Glasgow Rocks have confirmed the signing of ex Cheshire Phoenix Guard/Forward Earl Brown.
Given the recent season ending injury to Dante Holmes, the Rocks have worked quickly to bring in Earl Brown in time for the season opener that will be played this evening at the Emirates Arena at 5:00pm in front of an anticipated close to sell out crowd of 5,000.
Brown is a graduate from Division 1 College Saint Francis, where he finished his college career 11th on the Saint Francis scoring list with 1,373 points averaging 15 points and 8 rebounds per game during his senior year.
Brown spent his first professional season in the Icelandic league during the 2015-16 season, where he averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds for Keflavik. Last year with Phoenix in the BBL, he averaged an impressive 18.3 points and 8.12 rebounds a game.
Glasgow Rocks General Manager, Daniel Bajwoluk said: “It’s been a difficult pre-season for us due to the number of injuries we have accumulated, none more significant than that of Dante Holmes, who suffered a season ending knee injury in a pre-season game last week.
“We had to work very quickly to get a replacement and we were fortunate enough to call in Earl Brown, who will be available to play for us in our season opener.
“We are expecting a bumper crowd for our fixture against Sheffield this evening and we have a phenomenal show planned for all in attendance.”
Glasgow will be taking on the Sheffield Sharks in their official season opener this evening with minimal tickets still remaining.
