Surrey Scorchers 79-95 Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks (21-34, 45-61, 63-75)
(Scorchers – Ogedengbe 17, Bryan-Amaning 16, White 16; Rocks – Vinson 25, Thorpe 16, Murray 13)
In Saturday night’s only BBL Championship game, Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks used a big first half to beat Surrey Scorchers 95-79 on the road.
Glasgow are unbeaten away from home since the opening night of the league campaign, and have five wins in their last six games.
And they looked like a team on form as they raced out of the blocks to lead 34-21 after scoring the last nine points of the first quarter. Just 16 minutes in the visitors led 51-31 as they were shooting 76% from the field and had made six of their first seven three-point attempts.
That gave them enough of a cushion to see out a competitive second half, as the hosts got as close as 10, with Rocks led by 25 points and seven rebounds from Terrell Vinson.
Glasgow are second in the table, one win behind London Lions, and travel to Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday with an opportunity to grab a share of top spot.
