✍️ Tevin Falzon makes switch to Bristol Flyers

Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of Malta international Tevin Falzon on a one-year deal.

The 6’7″ forward returns for his second year in the BBL having made 32 appearances for the Cheshire Phoenix last season, averaging 5.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in just 13 minutes per game.

Falzon played a pivotal role in helping Cheshire to their first BBL Cup title in franchise history, scoring 12 points on a perfect 3/3 from long range in January’s Cup final.

“I’ m really excited to get started,” Falzon told bristolflyers.co.uk.

“Coach Kapoulas was great when I first spoke to him on the phone and I felt like we clicked really well.

“He has high aspirations for this club – The Flyers have been improving each year since they’ve joined the BBL and last season was a huge year for them making it to the Play-Offs semi-final.

“I always remember the atmosphere being amazing in Bristol. We played there twice last season and the crowd was always great.

“Last season I showed flashes of what I can do on the court, so I’m excited to have another opportunity in this league .”

Prior to joining the BBL, Falzon attended NCAA Division One Sacred Heart University, where he averaged 10.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in his senior year.

The 25-year-old went on to play his first professional season in Spain, helping Amtex Zornotza reach the LEB Silver play-off final in 2017.

Falzon has also represented Malta from junior level, most recently winning the 2018 FIBA European Championship for small countries, where he posted 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Speaking of his new acquisition, Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “I think Tevin is an excellent addition for us. ”

“He had a solid first season in the BBL playing for Cheshire and was efficient with his
time on the court.

“He is a very versatile player that can make his impact felt on both ends of the floor.

“At college, he was close to averaging a double-double in his senior year and I feel that
with a year of BBL basketball under his belt, he can be a key contributor for our team.

“We can definitely see this as being his breakout year, especially coming into our club with great
momentum from his recent success on the international stage.

“I know he is very excited about this opportunity and we look forward to welcoming him into the Flyers family.”
