Tributes from across the basketball community have been paid to statistician Keith Tewkesbury, who has died.
Keith was part of the group of expert statisticians serving the BBL and WBBL, working most recently at London Lions and London City Royals.
Prior to that Keith was a dedicated fan of the original London Leopards from the club’s formation in 1994, and followed the team home and away. He was also part of the group who reformed the club in 2004 in the NBL and served as Leopards’ match day announcer, DJ and statistician.
BBL statistician Tony Shorey said: “We are all numb and heartbroken at Keith’s sudden death, which has left everyone who had the privilege to know him in shock.”
And BBL statistics supervisor Sarah Booth added: “Keith was an absolute superstar. He was an excellent, experienced spotter who produced statistics of the highest quality, and was always available to attend matches when needed. He will be greatly missed.
“The thoughts of everyone at BBL are with his wife Sharon, daughters Cece and Dominica, and all his friends and family.”
