Trio of clubs reach Trophy last eight, Flyers win derby clash

The line-up for the BBL Trophy Quarter-Finals is nearing completion after three more clubs booked their spot in the last eight of the competition by taking wins on Sunday.

There was a tremendous battle between Cheshire and Glasgow with Phoenix winning 79-75 against the Rocks – thanks mainly to a stunning shooting effort of 21 points from CJ Gettys, while Malcolm Riley was influential at both ends of the floor.

The passage for London Lions was far more smooth as they strolled past Manchester Giants 73-105 as Brandon Peel impressed with a nice double-double.

Leicester Riders were also on cruise control as they swept aside Leeds Force 59-104 with Tyler Bernardini continuing his rich vein of form by adding 24 points.

There was one BBL Championship game too – and it was a big South-West derby match-up, with Bristol Flyers making amends for a recent loss at the Pavilions by beating Plymouth Raiders emphatically, 71-88.
